In the past several years, I have thrown myself into a lot of crafty activities. First and foremost I consider myself a crocheter, but I have branched out to knitting, jewelry making, perler beads, scarves… Having a creative outlet is so important for me, and being able to come up with something where there was nothing is always a little bit like magic.
Fiber Art
During the 2020 unpleasantness, I took up crochet as a way to still the demons and create in a way that improved my own comfort in the home around me. It continues to be my safe space for fidgeting if I’m anxious. Sometimes, in my blog I’ll talk about the projects I’m working on and the kinds of things I’m making. Mostly, it’s a way for me to work out my anxiety while creating beautiful things.

Every day gets a strip on this blanket, with the color depending on the recorded high temperature of the day.

Gardening
I also took up gardening in 2020 (sensing a theme here?). My parents have had a garden my whole life, it feels like, and I am starting to find peace and pleasure in tending to vegetables and flowers.
Check out some blog posts featuring how I live creatively…
