They say March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has noted that this particular March came in like a lion and, honestly, went out like a lion, too. In terms of personal goals, we are in maintenance mode – nothing too snazzy, but keeping pretty busy and on pace. Life, as they say, keeps life-ing.
Look ma, no handsTBR!

Turns out when you read a book that everyone is raving about, you get sucked into the series, and now there are seven books to catch up on. I am currently on book 5 of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, and I am actually marginally sad that the end is in sight. I’ve slammed through these books over the past couple months, and I’m loving them. I probably won’t be doing a full review here on the blog for each book, but suffice to say I’m having a great time.
Someday I’ll be done with DCC, though, so right now I’m just enjoying the ride. I’ll get to the rest of the TBR eventually.
W(h)IP status update
Just a few little tidbits here:
- Finished a chapter and moved on to the next
- Going to start working on cover art here soon
- I did some thinking about titles, even
More next month for sure!
Giving my two cents…

I know you’re thinking: Didn’t she used to have a podcast? The answer is yes, and we are still doing it! We recorded a super fun episode about the Nintendo 64 recently, and it’ll be up soon. It’s a classic Alex-talks-about-something-at-length and Liz-provides-color-commentary type episode, which are my favorite. We love talking about fun things and then still bringing up post-Cold War politics. It’s our specialty.
I also realized the other day that our logo is artwork that Alex created of the front and back of a penny. And the US government recently announced that the penny would not be minted after 2025. Time to find new artwork? Or time for our brothers and sisters in the content marketing industry to get paid more than two cents an hour?? I have a feeling it’s one of these options. Choose wisely.
LizCultivates, version 2026
The garden is yearning for attention as the winter recedes and spring breaks through the frost. I have some seeds started, and they’re doing good so far. Tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, and more! I also tried marigolds indoors for the first time, too – we’ll certainly see. If that doesn’t do anything, I have about a billion marigold seeds that I can scatter in the garden. I also think my lavender is still alive from last year, which honestly seems like kind of a miracle, not to mention my garlic is coming up from the fall!!

The outdoor peas are already starting to pop up, too!
I was worried that I started my indoor seeds a little too early, but that just means they’ll have more time to grow into big strong adolescent plants before I throw them to the wolves outside.
Next month . . .
As I said, I’m in maintenance mode right now. Not sure I’ll be trying to make or do anything new. But I’m going to keep working on the things I have control over and working on everything else in therapy (ha). I did recently regain access to the art studio at my university, as well, so I am going to have more opportunities to do lampwork and create things again. Hoping that will provide some peace.
