March seems to be the month for charity streams. In the midst of planning for our CGRH GO event, Island_Grandpa and I also signed up to do a longer stream for a different organization: We’re going to do the Knit for Food Knit-a-Thon 2024!
Join us Saturday, March 23 at 10 a.m.
The Knit-a-Thon is a twelve-hour knitting (or otherwise crafting) sesh to raise awareness for people facing food insecurity. One of the organizations supported is World Central Kitchen, which we have partnered with in the past for CGRH events.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: Twelve hours is a loooong time. And dear reader, you’re right. I was thinking the same thing. But never fear! We are building lots of breaks, chill playlists, games to pass the time, and more. Plus, folks are welcome to join us on our crafty adventures — grab your closest work-in-progress (WIP) and tell us what you’re working on! Gramma and Grandpa are ready to gab.
Island_Grandpa will be knitting this really cool shawl. They’ve already shared photos of it in various places, including our CGRH Discord server, and it’s SO pretty.

And I will be working on this cardigan:
I also have a mesh tank pattern that I might try to make some headway on, because summer is coming up!
We’re going to see how far we get! It’s for a good cause, and it’s a great excuse to hang out with friends and dedicate some real time to crafty endeavors. It’s going to be so chill. The MOST chill time. In fact, the Midnight Amendments are going to be out in full force:
- Be cool
- C’mon
- Nice
Come join us!
