The Cool Gamer Retirement Home is once again supporting the LGBTQIA+ community with our second annual event, Pridecraft!
… And this year, I actually get to participate.
Last year, I purchased Minecraft and got all set to join the server to decorate my Pride float, but some sort of issue caused my account to be out of sync with the servers hosting Minecraft at the time (I think… it was never very clear what the issue was, even though smarter folks than I helped troubleshoot me through several failed attempts to connect to the server).
This year is going to be much better, and not just because I have confirmed that the dang thing works on my computer now. We are banding together with several other streamers to raise (a goal of) $623 for Point of Pride, an organization dedicated to gender-affirming care for underprivileged groups. The rest of June is going to be dedicated to holding space for this beleaguered group of people and amplifying their voices through this streaming event.
Oh also, I have never played MineCraft and I can already tell I’m going to be Very Bad at it. So, that should be fun.
Seriously, it’s going to be a good time. The kickoff event is tomorrow night at 6 p.m. EST at SuperRedria64’s channel.
My stream will be on June 26 at 6 p.m.
